Called To Live Holy

Dear reader, Greetings of Love and Peace in the name of our resurrected Saviour and Lord - Jesus Christ.

I intend to write some articles to you about living holy. God being a Holy God has called His children to live holy like Him.

In the New king James version of the Bible, the word - Holy appears - 637 times and Holiness - 32 times.

For I am the LORD who brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.Leviticus 11 vs. 45

This call God made to the children of Israel after He delivered them from the Land of bondage - Egypt. God is still making the same call today to all who have given their lives to His Son Jesus Christ , because we also have been delivered from the bondage of sin.

Let me try to give a definition to the Word - Holy. For us to say God is holy means He is pure and for us it can be said to mean separating ourselves unto God from sin and all things that God dislikes.

In simple terms it can be said to mean separation unto God. This separation is a gradual and continuous process which we have to keep doing daily and regularly. The more we separate ourselves unto Him, the purer we get and the more we obey and live right before Him. We need to understand that our living holy will please God and make Him attentive to us, the same way parents give more attention to obedient children.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye be in all holy conversation and godliness.2 Peter 3 vs. 11

Please ponder on these things and I will continue with this article latter. Have a wonderful time always in God's presence!!!.

Holiness is definitely something the church needs to rediscover and embrace!
