CONTRARY TO HOPE HAVE HOPE (4)

Greetings to you Dear Reader, I want to continue from where l stopped last time,

2 Kings 7 vs. 8 - 12. " And when these lepers came to the outskirts of the camp, they went into one tent and ate and drank, and carried from it silver and gold and clothing, and went and hid them, then they came back and entered another tent, and carried some from there also, and went and hid it.

Then they said to one another, ' We are not doing right, This is a day of good news, and we remain silent. If we wait until morning light, some punishment will come upon us. Now therefore, come, let us go and tell the king's household'. So they went and called to the gatekeepers of the city, and told them saying, ' We went to the Syrian camp, and surprisingly no one was there, not a human sound - only horses and donkeys tied, and the tents intact.' And the gatekeepers called out, and they told it to the king's household inside.

So the king arose in the night and said to his servants, ' Let me now tell you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we are hungry, therefore they have gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, ' When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and get into the city'.

One thing that is obvious from the above scriptures is that God will always move on behalf of His children who live and follow Him in hope and faith.

This article is not actually designed to emphasise on the link but one thing is certain, people who are living in the LORD and  hope in Him will also have faith in the LORD.

Galatians 5 s. 5 “ For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.”  Our hope of righteousness is Christ Jesus.

Remember the bible says in 1 Peter 1 vs. 20 – 21 “ He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

Wherever there is hope in God, faith is put into action, and that is what the four lepers did when they took a step to match to the camp of the enemy not knowing exactly what would happen, but they knew that something would definitely happen. Their movement of Hope contrary to hope, God turned around for their good and they entered into a prepared camp by the Almighty God with plenty of goods needed to overturn the famine in Samaria.

As most humans would do,  they first of all took care of themselves, ate and drank and stored up enough food, drink and goods for the rest of their lives before remembering others. At least they had a conscience to remember the suffering populace in the city of Samaria and wanted to do something about it even though they did it out of the fear that if they did nothing the Almighty God will  punish them.

These lepers also as before moved into action to go to the king’s household and tell them what had happened, they did this and despite the story they told the gatekeepers which was related across to the king in Samaria, the king did not believe.

The position of having hope contrary to hope can be expressed by any child of God not necessary the leader with a title. The four lepers had hope while the rest of the people in Samaria including the king didn’t.

In fact the words of the king where not only negative, they were words of someone with no hope, faith and believe that the Almighty God can do anything. His words are of someone whose situation had made him demoralised, not seeing a way out but seeing only victory for their enemies.

No one can go to battle with no hope, seeing victory only for the enemy and expect to come back victorious with spoil. This was the position of this king of Samaria.

We will continue with this article when next I come your way. Please Dear Reader keep your hope alive irrespective of  what you are going through and the LORD will move on your behalf to rescue you in the name of Jesus.

God bless you real good.
